England and Wales Gear up for Six Nations Showdown Posted On 15 February 2019

The third round of Six Nations fixtures sees Wales and England come face-to-face at the Principality Stadium, with England coming off the back of two highly impressive wins

England Head Coach Eddie Jones recalled 25 players for a three-day training camp in London ahead of their potential Guinness Six Nations title decider on Saturday 23rd February.

Scum-half Dan Robson, who won his first cap against France, as been released to play for Wasps against Bristol this Friday in the English Premiership.

Wales will go into the game with away victories against France and Italy under their belt, and they have released six players back to the regions for game time this weekend ahead of next week’s fixture.

The Cardiff Blues welcome back Josh Turnbull, Seb Davies and Jarrod Evans, while the Scarlets get Leigh Halfpenny, Rhys Patchell and Steff Evans.

England’s demolition job of a disorganised French team and their impressive away win away to last year’s Grand Slam winners Ireland, has made them the early favourites to win the title and potentially claim a Grand Slam.

The encounter on 23rd February is viewed as the likely title decider with the two sides being the only two unbeaten teams in the tournament.

England boss Jones began the build up to his side’s trip to Cardiff in the wake of his side’s 44-8 hammering of France last weekend by saying the current Wales team are the “greatest ever” and that the Principality Stadium “has never been a fortress for me.”

Wales coach Neil Jenkins said he is “wary” of an exceptional England side after the “intensity and accuracy they brought” on the opening game at Ireland.

He said: “We know what it is, it’s Wales versus England, it’s in Cardiff and it is a humungous game.”
