Captain Tom hits the charts! Posted On 22 April 2020

After raising almost £28 million for the NHS by walking over 100 laps of his garden, Captain Tom Moore has now landed the week’s biggest trending song in the iTunes chart!

Tom’s 100th Birthday Walk for the NHS fundraising page has seen him single-handedly raise almost £28 million in donations and – despite a recent hip operation – he completed his challenge way ahead of his 30th April deadline. And now he has a hit single to add to his long list of accolades.

He has paired up with Michael Ball and the NHS Voices Of Care Choir to record his version of the iconic hit, “You’ll never walk alone” to raise yet more funds for the NHS. Both initiatives were started to help celebrate his 100th birthday on 30th April.

With just two days left to go before the official iTunes chart, 100% of Captain Tom, Michael Ball and Decca Records’ proceeds from the single will be donated to NHS Charities Together to support NHS staff and volunteers caring for Covid-19 patients.

You can buy his single here: https://michaelball.lnk.to/NeverWalkAloneTW

And donations to Captain Tom’s chosen charity, NHS Charities Together, can still be made at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tomswalkforthenhs
